Hmm, you're right.  I thought I remembered adding something about this.

The new CVS makes it easy as Brad said.  With older releases, Alex came 
up with a good trick where basically you make a new ArrayList out of the 
existing content, detach them, then add the contents of your copied 
ArrayList.  It's short and fast.

As Brad said, there's been heavy discussion about whether there should 
be an implicit detachment and the verdict has been no.
