[jdom-interest] Is JDOM dying?

Yes, there is something wrong, but you've misdiagnosed the problem. 
The wrong thing is XML namespaces, not JDOM. The problem you are 
having shows up on every list having to do with XML. It is hardly 
unique to JDOM. DOM's handling of namespaces, for instance, is far, 
far more confusing and probably not even correct. This problem cannot 
be fixed in JDOM. If it can be fixed anywhere, it has to be fixed in 
the namespaces spec itself, and that's unlikely to happen.
