[jdom-interest] get direct children using DOM API?

Hi,

We are using DOM APIs, and I need to get the direct children of an w3c.org.dom.element, just what getChildren() in jdom does. However, getElementsByTagName() returns all the children for an element. I am wondering if anyone has done implementations to get around this?
