This was discussed both in terms of lots of convienience methods like the
ones proposed here as well as representing the content with Text class,
something like your content class.  Like now, there were strong proponents
on both sides. While there are merits to both ideas, the smaller, simpler
existing version is what won the day. I was satisfied with the answer at the
time.  There are enough challenging tasks to accomplish with JDOM just to be
an effective object model for XML.  That is what I want JDOM to be, and to
be very good at.
