Sorry, I know I'm going off-jdom-topic. please bear yet this message :-)

I was thinking than even if I will be storing docs as clobs, I may be able
to retrieve them via URLs (absolute *and* relative !!),
if I implement a custom URL handler that understands "myprotocol:/" fetching
the docs from the db.

has anyone implemented something like this ? any restrictions to custom urls
in an ejb environment ?
